At Can Do Places (CDP) we like to find out what is happening across the country. Matthew Clarke from the CDP Team, popped into Penzance for us to find out about how the Workbox is strengthening the local economy of this iconic town.
Dark clouds need not gather over a community when a major industry, such as fishing, goes into decline. The way to energise innovation and spirit is to inject the drive found in community superheroes. This is exactly what has happened in Penzance.
With a growing number of people working on their own, work hubs are popping up all over the country. We have been speaking to one of the pioneers to find out why it is so important to provide great environments to those who don’t have a ‘proper’ office to go to.
Meet Tim Dwelly who has opened the ‘Workbox’ in Penzance and Truro in Cornwall. Workbox Penzance was the first Workbox in Cornwall. It’s a purpose-designed workhub on the Penzance waterfront, a space where you can rent an office or worktop to run your business without paying over-the-odds.
